Our Auto Maintenance And Repair Partners Will Take Care Of Your Needs
Just as we’ve built relationships with our clients over the past 30 years that we’ve been selling quality used cars, we’ve also built relationships with a network of auto repair shops near Durham, NC and Raleigh, NC. We highly recommend our preferred partners, East Carolina Tire and Pro Tire, and we use them whenever possible to maintain and repair our personal vehicles!
Any of these authorized repair shops are competent and equipped to work with AutoMax and your warranty company to ensure your vehicle is repaired and that Assured Vehicle Protection pays for items covered under the warranty they provide. Each of these mechanics know that you, the car owner, do not need to pay out of pocket for the full cost of any repairs covered under your warranty. Many of the authorized repair shops that work with us often waive charges for such things as diagnostic fees, shop supplies, and test drive time, which are never covered under warranty.
If you choose to use a shop not listed as one of our authorized repair shops, then you may be required to pay in-full for repairs, and then file a claim with Assured Vehicle Protection for reimbursement on the covered items. Oil changes performed at shops other than our partners are not covered under your warranty, nor are they eligible for reimbursement. An AutoMax service coordinator, located at both of our buy here pay here car lots, will be happy to help you with the paperwork required for reimbursement.
Rental Car Partner Program
If your car repair will take longer than one day to complete and your rental charges are covered by Assured Vehicle Protection, our warranty company, you must obtain your rental vehicle from A-1 Auto Rental. A-1 Auto Rental is the only approved rental car company under our warranty. You can pick up, sign for, and return all rentals to the nearest AutoMax location, making A-1 Auto Rental a convenient choice as well.
Non-Warrantied Auto Repairs
The AutoMax warranty we provide at no cost to you with every car purchase is one of the most comprehensive warranties you’ll find in the industry. For most cars, covered items extend to 12 months, or 15,000 miles driven from the date of purchase, whichever comes first.
Unfortunately, as with any warranty, some items are not covered. Normal wear and tear items are not covered under the AutoMax warranty. Examples include but are not limited to tires, brake pads, battery, speakers, windshield wipers and freon for air conditioner. However, AutoMax wants you to stay on the road and enjoy driving your vehicle! We offer assistance should you find yourself in need of a mechanical repair that the warranty will not pay for.
As a general rule, two-thirds (⅔) of the cost of non-warrantied repairs can be added to your car loan account within the first 18 months of the loan. To qualify for this assistance, you must:
- Be current on your account by making your payments in full and on time.
- Pay at least one-third (⅓) of the repair cost upfront.
- Set up payment arrangements to pay for repairs within 12 months of the work being completed.
Should your vehicle require a non-warrantied repair that will take longer than one day to complete, our AutoMax customers are eligible to get a rental car at a reduced rate.
